Mission and Goals

Mission Statement 

The InterHospital Laboratory Partnership (IHLP) is a regional partnership of member hospital laboratories, the mission of which is to collaborate to provide high quality, cost-effective and harmonious Laboratory Service, primarily in the Counties of Huron, Perth, Grey and Wellington.  

  

Goals

1.            To coordinate resources within participating IHLP Laboratories to maintain high quality Laboratory Services within budgetary limits.

2.          To provide pathologist supervision to laboratories including consultation and education.

3.          To facilitate the regional hospitals to provide a focus for expertise and technical achievement within the group.

4.          To assist the regional hospitals to comply with the standards of the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation.

5.          To assist the district hospitals to comply with the Laboratory Licensing standards of the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.

6.          To assist the district hospitals to comply with the standards set by the Institute for Quality Management in Healthcare (IQMH) and the Ontario Laboratory Accreditation Guidelines (OLA).

7.          Standardization of policies and procedures in each laboratory.

8.          To assist in the career development of laboratory staff by identifying and supporting educational and employment opportunities and providing opportunities for varied employment.

9.          To facilitate group purchasing of appropriate equipment and supplies.
